David Webb, 72, of Mt. Vernon, died 5:55 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at his home in Mt. Vernon.
He was born Thursday, May 16, 1940, in Mt. Vernon, the son of Carl and Doris (Whobrey) Webb. He married Judy Wilson on Feb. 10, 1968, in Mt. Vernon, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 26, 1976.
David served our country in the National Guard. He worked for General Radiator and later worked as a supervisor at Walgreens Distribution Center. He was a member of the Kingsmen Auto Club and Westside Baptist Church. David loved cars and motorcycles, but especially loved his family. He was an avid Harley Davidson rider and enjoyed classic cars.
He is survived by his mother, Doris Webb of Mt. Vernon; two sisters, Carol Martin of Mt. Vernon and Carla Davis of Mt. Vernon; aunt, Virginia Walker of Mt. Vernon; six nieces, Barbara Wells of Mt. Vernon, Gayle Eblin of Mt. Vernon, Lisa Ellis of Mt. Vernon, Janis Steury of Mt. Vernon, Stefani Martin of Troy, Mo., and Celeste Hahn of Mt. Vernon; three nephews, Steve Davis of Mt. Vernon, Robert Fleener of Mt. Vernon and Tim Fleener of Mt. Vernon; best friend, Dannie Youngblood; good friends, Dale Sledge and Tom Glover; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his father, Carl Webb; one brother, Jimmie Webb; one sister, Rebecca Hahn; grandparents, William and Edith Whobrey and S.R. And Florence Webb; two nephews, Donald Fleener and Donnie Davis; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with the Rev. Merle Fullerton officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.
Visitation will be held from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
