Mary Frances Bland, age 56, of Mt. Vernon, passed away 8:55 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Nov. 14, 1956, in Charleston, Miss., the daughter of Alexander and Alline (Williams) Bland.
Mary was a member of the Southtown Apostolic Church in Mt. Vernon. Mary had work as a certified nurse's assistant at the Evanston Hospital.
Mary is survived by her mother, Alline-Bland Peters of Mt. Vernon; son, Randy Bland of Lansing; one granddaughter, Julina Mary Bland of Milwaukee; three brothers, Mushambay, George and Roger; and also five sisters, Elizabeth, Mattie, Alline, Rosie and Sheresa.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alexander Bland and a sister, Dorene.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, at Southtown Apostolic Church, 1116 S. 15th St., District Elder James L. Gordon Sr. officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.
