George R. Huston Sr., 79, of Bradley, died Saturday, March 9, 2013, at his home.
Mr. Huston was a mental health technician for 35 years for the state of Illinois. He was born July 29, 1933, in Mt. Vernon, the son of Lester Owen and LaVerne Conn Huston. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He was an avid reader. He loved his family. His grandkids and great-grandkids were number one to him.
Surviving are his wife, the former Donna Karch, of Bradley, whom he married Jan. 22, 1958, in Mt. Vernon; one son and daughter-in-law, George Jr. and Michele Huston, of Kankakee; two daughters and one son-in-law, Tanya Huston, of Kankakee, and Laurie and Joe Williams, of Bradley; nine grandchildren, Adria, Caitlin, Sarah, Candace, Joseph Jr., Brooke, Shelby, Skyler and Hunter; and four great-grandchildren, Nickolas, Abree Ann, Beau Danger and Jack.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Dwight (Albia) Huston; and one grandson, Christopher Williams.
Visitation and services were held Tuesday evening at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais. Cremation rites were accorded following the services. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
