MT. VERNON —
Robert Harold Olivier, 68, of Mt. Vernon, died 1:38 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Friday, May 26, 1944, in Moline, the son of Harold and Mary (DeClercq) Olivier. He married Denise Wright Jan. 11, 1991, in Mt. Vernon; she survives in Mt. Vernon.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by six sons, Nathan Moss of Arlington, Texas, Jason Moss, Kevin Olivier, Christopher Olivier, Matthew Olivier and Timothy Olivier all of Mt. Vernon; five daughters, Rachel Moss of Arlington, Texas, Deborah McWilliams and husband Clint of Grand Prairie, Texas, Victoria Olivier of Mt. Vernon, Christa Styles and husband Shannon of Collinsville and Tina Hall and husband James of Marion; a grandson, Logan Hall of Marion; a brother; four sisters; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Robert was a retired farmer and coal miner and member of Victory Christian Center in Mt. Vernon.
A celebration of life service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, at Victory Christian Center in Mt. Vernon with Pastor Bob Meyer officiating. In honor of his wishes, Mr. Olivier will be cremated and there will be no visitation.
For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Victory Christian Academy and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864.
