MT. VERNON — —
Katherine J. Smith, 77, of Mt. Vernon, died 3:08 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Friday, Jan. 24, 1936, of Jefferson County, the daughter of Roy and Ethel Tennessee (Ferguson) Wilson. She married Leroy Reynolds and he preceded her in death. She married Roy Dale Smith on June 12, 1967, in Mt. Vernon, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 2010.
She was homemaker.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Hays and husband Junior of Benton; two sons, Joe Reynolds and wife Theresa of Mt. Vernon and Jerry Reynolds of Mt. Vernon; three granddaughters, Leslie Hammock and husband Harley, Holly Reynolds and Mandy Reynolds; three great-grandchildren, Alecia Bumgarner of Mt. Vernon and Brandon Hammock of Mt. Vernon; brother, Roy Lee Wilson and wife Louise of Kansas City, Kan.; four sisters, Dorothy Donoho and husband Junior of Bonnie, Laura Louise Whisenhunt of Mt. Vernon, Annette Flanagan of Mt. Vernon and Nelda Waller of Mt. Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; one son, Leslie Leroy Reynolds; one brother, Winston Wilson; and one sister, Ardyce Henkensiefken.
Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Atkinson Cemetery in Jefferson County with the Rev. Merle Fullerton officiating. Interment will be at Atkinson Cemetery in Jefferson County.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
