Journey Blaine Houle, 9, of Mt. Vernon, died 8:54 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, in Nashville.
He was born Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, in Mt. Vernon, the son of Derek Houle and Misty (Gregory) Wimberly.
Journey was a student in the fourth grade in Mt. Vernon.
He is survived by his mother, Misty Wimberly and Journey's stepfather Randy of Mt. Vernon; sister, Destani Houle of Mt. Vernon; stepsister, Cheyanne Wimberly of Mt. Vernon; maternal grandmother, Pamela Howell of Mt. Vernon; stepgrandfather, Larry Owens of Wayne City; paternal grandmother, Carla Bryant and husband Rusty of Bluford; paternal grandfather, Randy Houle and wife Helen of Eldridge; stepgrandmother, Karen Crain and special friend Roger Wilkins of Salem; stepgrandfather, Leonard Wimberly of Kinmundy; great-grandparents, James and Doris Newbury of Bluford; seven uncles, Tommy Gregory III and wife Sonya of Mt. Vernon, Brandon Owens of Wayne City, Brandon Houle of Bluford, Chad Houle and wife Ashley of Belle Rive, Joshua Houle and wife Kayla of Marshall, Zachary Houle of Terre Haute, Ind. and Jeremiah Houle of Indianapolis; five aunts, Jennifer Bolyard of Mt. Vernon, Chandra Ballard of Woodlawn, Ciejay Simms of Mt. Vernon, Jamie Houle of Terre Haute, Ind. And Ciera Houle of Terre Haute, Ind.; four stepuncles, Steve Wimberly of Salem, Joey Wimberly and special friend, Becky Helton of Salem, David Linder and wife Kandice of Salem and Rusty Bryant, Jr. of Christpher; and stepaunt, Tammy Russell and husband Jamie of Iuka.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Tommy Gregory, Jr.; and his father Derek Blaine Houle passed away with him.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Central Christian Church in Mt. Vernon with Mr. Kent Hails officiating. Interment will be at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Central Christian Church in Mt. Vernon.
