MT. VERNON —
Janet Marie Solomon, 70, of Cerro Gordo, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at 1:47 p.m. at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
A service to celebrate Janet’s life will be held 10 a.m. today at First Free Will Baptist Church in Decatur with the Rev. Scott Bee officiating. Visitation was held Monday at the church. Dawson & Wikoff North Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Burial will be held 3 p.m. today at Thomason Cemetery, Wayne City. Memorial contributions may be directed to First Free Will Baptist Church.
Mrs. Solomon was born on Aug. 22, 1942, in Ravenna, Ohio, the daughter of Hobart and Lois (Peddicord) Weaver. She was a homemaker and attended First Free Will Baptist Church in Decatur. Janet married Larry G. Solomon on Dec. 31, 1959, in Johnsonville.
Janet leaves to cherish her loving memories her husband, Larry G. Solomon of Cerro Gordo; a son, Ron (Cherie) Solomon of Oakley; daughters, Diane Ridgeway of Decatur, Sheila (Brad) Aylesworth of Mt. Pulaski and Rita (Kent) Zindars of Cerro Gordo; brothers, Larry (Marcella) Weaver of Cisne and Allen (Doris) Weaver of Johnsonville; sisters, Louise (Dale) Lowery of Granger, Ind., Linda (Johnnie) Johnson of Johnsonville, Marsha (Dave) Powless of Michigan City, Ind., Sherrel (Clarence) Cooper of Cisne, Norma (Steve) Pearce of Crossville and Loretta (John) Bundy of Kell; grandchildren, Keith, Briar, Kristen, Corey and his wife Kim, Brittany, Madison, Kaleb and Keaton; and 36 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
