MT. VERNON —
Harvey M. Tyler, 85, of Centralia, passed away Nov. 5, 2012, at his home in Centralia.
Mr. Tyler was born March 10, 1927, in Orchardville, son of Harvey M. and Mae Rebecca (Gaines) Tyler. He married Florence Eisler on Oct. 14, 1960; she survives in Centralia.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Tyler is survived by a brother, Harold Tyler of Florida and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
Mr. Tyler was in the United States Army and United States Navy. He served for many years. He retired from the Olin Corporation in 1989. He was a life member of Elks Lodge 439 and the American Legion Post 446. He was a loyal fan of the Centralia Orphans and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Visitation will be held today from 5 to 6 p.m. at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. No funeral service will be held.
Memorials may be made to the Centralia Boosters Club and will be received at the funeral home.
