Norma Toothman, 73, of Broughton, died 7:45 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at her home.
She was born Sept. 25, 1939, in Hamilton County, the daughter of Ralph and Ersie (Irvin) Essary. She married Charles Toothman on Oct. 19, 2000, and he survives.
She worked as a C.N.A. in many area nursing homes during her lifetime. She attended Dahlgren Community Church.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Toothman; son, Heath Toothman of Broughton; stepson, Eddie Toothman of McLeansboro; daughters, Becky (Mike) Green of Thompsonville, Twilla Sivok of Broughton, Goldie Gustafson of Evansville, Ind., and Kathy (Mike) Karnes of McLeansboro; sisters; Irene Phelps of Olnby and Betty Stout of Eldorado; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ray Essary; one sister, Josephine Maulding; and stepdaughter, Tina Hudson.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Tony Phelps officiating. Interment will be at Hickory Hill Cemetery near Broughton.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m., today at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Memorials may be made to the family and will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home.
