FORT WORTH, Texas — Funeral services for Mildred James, 56, of Fort Worth, Texas, and formerly of Silver Point, Tenn., and Belle Rive, will be Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home with burial in Maynard Cemetery in the Cherry Hill Community of DeKalb County, Tenn.

Miss James died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010, at Denton Regional Medical Center in Denton, Texas.

She was born July 20, 1954, in DeKalb County to the late Hooper and Winnie Steele James. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Mattie Smith Presbyterian Church in Silver Point.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Evalene Reed and Star Hester.

Survivors are two daughters, Mandy Michelle James of Lake Dallas, Texas, and Misty Dawn James of Fort Worth, Texas; three sisters, Ruby James and Treble Roberts, both of Silver Point and Ann Overturf of Loganville, Ga.; four brothers, Royce James of Belle Rive, Billy James of Opdyke and Freddie and Leonard James, both of Silver Point; two grandchildren, Christopher and Tori James; and special friends, Dwayne Jones of Fort Worth, Texas, Chrystal Mitchell and Lynn Harper.

Brother Tony Crow will officiate at the funeral service.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Family will receive friends today from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
