Rocksy E. Wheeler, 62, died 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at her home in McLeansboro.
She was born Oct. 29, 1950, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Ralph and Wanda (Deck) Johnson. She married Ralph Wheeler; he preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sons, Ernest (Tracey Gosnell) Johnson of Junction and Bradley (Starr) Johnson of McLeansboro; a daughter, Shirley Johnson of Harrisburg; eight grandchildren, Trenton (Lyna) Hart, Kyleigh (and unborn son Mason) Gosnell, Jacob Johnson, Chasity Horton, Mark Johnson, Desarea Duvall, Deedra Duvall and Heather Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Kenzie Jo Banks and Andrew Lee Edwards; and two brothers, Charles (Debbie) Johnson of McLeansboro and Ralph (Jean) Johnson of Peoria.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister, Mina Lewis.
She was a certified nurse aid, having worked at nursing homes in McLeansboro, Eldorado and Enfield.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Gerald (Andy) May officiating. Burial will be at Knights Prairie Cemetery near McLeansboro.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice and will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home.
