MT. VERNON — —
Mr. Ernest L. “Bud” Schindelar of Ashley departed this life at Good Samaritan Regional Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon Monday, Dec. 24, 2012, at 9:29 p.m. He had attained the age of 73 years, six months and 26 days.
Mr. Schindelar was born May 28, 1939, in DuBois Township, Washington County, the son of Martin and Helen (Bender) Schindelar. He was united in marriage to Beverly Perjak on May 23, 1970, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom, and she survives his passing.
Bud was the lead foreman for the Illinois Department of Transportation for more than 30 years. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom and the Washington County Sportsman Club. Bud enjoyed deer hunting, mowing grass, going to car races and model trains.
Left to mourn his passing is his wife Beverly Schindelar of Ashley; two sons, Todd Schindelar and his wife Beth of Shiloh and Martin Schindelar of Radom; two grandchildren, Evan and Caleb Schindelar; two sisters, Marie Warncke of Festus, Mo., and Marcella Knight and her husband Don of Radom; cousin, Bill Smalley and his wife Frances of Ashley; two nephews, Jeff Warncke and Doug Schindelar; two nieces, Karen Bathon and Donna Hicks; two brothers-in-law, Ron Perjak and his wife Pat of Lakeland, Fla., and Jim Perjak and his wife Brenda of Richview; one sister-in-law, Gladys Schindelar of Mt. Vernon; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard Schindelar; a niece, Lisa Warncke; and a brother-in-law, Troy Warncke.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at 10 a.m. with Father Dale Maxfield officiating and with interment in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Ashley on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.
Should friends desire, mass offerings or memorials can be made to the St. Michael Catholic Church and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
