MT. VERNON —
Ernest J. “Jack” Moore, 81, formerly of McLeansboro, passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at 5:58 p.m. in the Tanner Hospital in Carrollton, Ga.
Jack was born Aug. 19, 1931, to Ernest and Mabel (Smith) Moore in Hamilton County.
He married Marcia Hart, who survives.
He retired as the southeast regional director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Jack is survived by his wife, Marcia Moore of Carrollton, Ga.; three sons, Jim Moore of Tomah, Wisc., Mark Moore of Carrollton, Ga., and Brian Moore of Carrollton, Ga.; and three grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held 12:30 p.m. Monday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Tony McManus officiating. Interment will follow at IOOF Cemetery in McLeansboro with graveside military rites accorded by the American Legion Post #106 of McLeansboro.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Monday until service time at the funeral home.
For those who wish, memorials may be given to Antioch Baptist Church 31 Antioch Church Road, Carrollton, GA 30117 and also will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro, who is in charge of all arrangements.
