Collin Hertenstein, 29, of Benton, died 11:37 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon.
He was born Thursday, May 5, 1983, in Mt. Vernon, the son of James Mikel and Debbie (Hicks) Hertenstein.
Collin was a self-employed information technology technician and he attended Central Christian Church in Mt. Vernon.
He is survived by son, Keegan Mikel Hertenstein of Benton; fiancee and her daughter, Amy Brown and Kiley Neal of Benton; father and stepmother, Mike and Tammy Hertenstein of Mt. Vernon; mother and stepfather, Debbie and Steve Reynolds of Mt. Vernon; two brothers, Travis Hertenstein and wife April of Mt. Vernon and Colby Hertenstein of Mt. Vernon; two grandmothers, Shirley A. Hertenstein of Mt. Vernon and Arlene Hicks of Mt. Vernon; sister, Casey Crowell and husband Jason of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; niece, Reese Hertenstein of Mt. Vernon; nephew, Carter Hertenstein of Mt. Vernon; stepbrother, Matthew Reynolds and wife Zane of Mt. Vernon; stepsister, Brittany Reynolds and fiancé John Kalahar of Mt. Vernon; and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his two grandfathers, James Hertenstein and Bob Hicks.
A celebration of life reception will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Genkota Winery in Mt. Vernon.
