James Kerry Craig, 53, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at his home in Mt. Vernon.
James was born May 26, 1959, in Chicago, a son of James Franklin and Lillie (Vinson) Craig. He was a paramedic and fire fighter for the fire department in Robbins.
James is survived by his daughter, SGT Teawana Davenport, deployed in the U.S. Army in Japan; and a sister, Lydia Rochelle Craig of Mt. Vernon; niece, Rokeesha Craig; two nephews, Keith Craig and Khalid Bin-Walee; and also fourteen great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Franklin Craig, and mother, Lillie Dean.
A memorial service for James Craig will be held 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Elder Quinton Westbrook officiating.
