MT. VERNON —
Jean Teal, 83, of Belle Rive, died at 9:20 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20. 2012, at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
She was born Wednesday, Feb. 27, 1929, in Jefferson County. She married Roy Vernon Teal on July 30, 1957, and he preceded her in death on June 4, 2001.
Jean worked at the Mt. Vernon Shoe Factory and later was a secretary for the Farm Bureau before retiring. She ran the Belle Rive Library and was a tutor for the Rend Lake College Program and she was a 60+ year member of Belle Rive Christian Church.
She is survived by daughter, Kathy Sue Bocock and husband Dennis Dean Bocock of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren, Dennis Bocock II of Mt. Vernon, Robert Shawn Bocock of Indianapolis, Kelly Sean Bocock and wife Misty of Bedford, Ind., Brenda Daily of Arkansas and Bobbie Moles and husband Bob of Hopkinsville, Ky.; sister, Helen Teal of Mt. Vernon; cousins, Jim Ferguson and wife Gloria of West Bend, Wi., and Diane Childress and family of La Porte, Ind.; seven great-grandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; and several special and beloved nieces and nephews and members of her church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents; her husband; and infant son, George Wayne Teal.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Belle Rive Cemetery in Belle Rive with Pastor Kent Hails officiating. Interment will be at Belle Rive Cemetery in Belle Rive.
Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
