MT. VERNON —
Mrs. Eva J. Casey of Mt. Vernon, formerly of Woodlawn, departed this life at the White Oak Rehab and Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon, on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at 10:45 a.m. She had attained the age of 86 years, three months and three days.
Mrs. Casey was born on Sept. 15, 1926, at Casner Township, Jefferson County, the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Bowers) Knox. She was united in marriage to Floyd Casey on April 17, 1954, at Salem, and he preceded her in death on June 15, 1979.
Eva was a homemaker and a member of the Fouts Christian Church. Eva loved her cats and enjoyed spending time with them.
Left to mourn her passing is her brother, Louis Knox and his wife Hazel of Mt. Vernon; her nephew, Louis Knox, Jr. and his wife Melba of Woodlawn; her two nieces, Vicky Campbell and her husband Michael and Judy Jackson and her husband Benard all of Bonnie; other nieces, nephews, relations and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her brother, John Knox.
Funeral services will be held at the Campagna Funeral Home in Ashley on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Bob Askew officiating and with interment in the Mt. Catherine Cemetery in Woodlawn.
Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Ashley on Friday from 10 a.m. until the service hour.
Should friends desire memorials can be made to the Fouts Christian Church and will be accepted at Campagna Funeral Home.
