Kenneth Wilkerson

Kenneth Wayne Wilkerson, 75, of Belle Rive, passed away at 12:18 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at his home.



He was born in Hamilton County on July 27, 1934, a son of John G. and Martha Pearl (Scrivner) Wilkerson. He married Lois L. Wilson on Dec. 4, 1955, and she survives. He was a self-employed farmer and heavy equipment owner and operator.



Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Belle Rive Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs. Ralph Wilton and Jeremy Hamson officiating. Burial will follow at IOOF Cemetery in Dahlgren.



Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight at the church.



In addition to his wife, Mr. Wilkerson is survived by three sons, Edward Wayne Wilkerson and wife Deborah of Belle Rive, Stephen Ray Wilkerson and wife Sueann of Dahlgren and David Alan Wilkerson and wife Mary of Dahlgren; one daughter, Melva Jo Littrell and husband Gary of Orange City, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Ensign Michael Wilkerson of Norfolk, Va., Timothy and Eric Wilkerson of Belle Rive, Amy Wilkerson of Brisbane, Australia, and Joshua, Aaron and Alysha Wilkerson of Dahlgren; two great-grandsons, Evan Wilkerson of Mt. Vernon and Landon Wilkerson of Virginia; two step-grandchildren, Stormi Stein of Bell Glade, Fla., and Chris Littrell of Homosassa, Fla.; six step-great-grandchildren, Tristan, Michael, Austin, Clayton, Caroline and Levi; one sister, Edith Austin of Hudson, Fla.; two brothers, John D. Wilkerson of Wayne City and Gene Wilkerson and wife Mil of Westminster, S.C.; and one sister-in-law, Zana Wilkerson of Dahlgren.



He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George, Bill “Lloyd” and Glenn Wilkerson; infant twin sisters; sisters-in-law, Audrey, Wanda and Noma Louis Wilkerson; brother-in-law, E.J. Austin; and mother- and father-in-law, Vivian and Raymond Wilson.



Mr. Qualls was a member of Belle Rive Missionary Baptist Church.



For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Belle Rive Missionary Baptist Church or Hospice of the Good Samaritan and will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren, which is in charge of arrangements.
