Lola P. Clifton, 75, of Mt. Vernon, died at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, in Mt. Vernon.
She was born in Whittington on July 7, 1934, the daughter of William and Lillian (Whittington) Winemiller.
Mrs. Clifton is survived by her husband, Delbert Clifton.
They were married on Dec. 21, 1971.
Also surviving are four sisters, Betty Tucker and husband George of Christopher, Shirley Glowacki and husband Richard of Steger, Susan Brooks and husband Chuck of Zeigler and Diane Denton and husband Gary of Crete; two brothers, Delbert Winemiller and wife Sheri of Macedonia and Glen Winemiller and wife Christine of Indiana; two sisters-in-law, Carleta Winemiller of Akin and Brenda Winemiller of Benton; a brother-in-law, Ronald Glenn of Steger; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Clifton was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, William, Bob, Larry and Paul; and by two sisters, Tilda Winemiller and Mary Glenn.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Johnston Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Brother David Shores officiating. Burial will be in the Williams Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mrs. Clifton’s memory may be made to the Hospice of the Good Samaritan.
