Elizabeth Ann "Betsy" Thames, 58, of Macedonia, passed away at 1:08 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor.
She was born in New Orleans on Saturday, June 30, 1951, the daughter of Lynn Patrick Sr. and Geraldine Marie (Grant) Bertaut. She married Kenneth Thames on May 13, 1975, in Metairie, La.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, with the Rev. Derek Downs officiating. Interment will follow.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
Betsy is survived by her parents, Lynn and “Gerry” Bertaut of New Orleans; husband, Kenneth Thames of Macedonia; three daughters, Lisa Thames of New Orleans, Susan Burk and husband Adam of Mt. Vernon and Gerri Thames of Mt. Vernon; a twin brother, Robert Bertaut of New Orleans; two sisters, Julie Bell and husband Mike of New Orleans and Tina Festi and husband Tony of Pflugerville, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her grandparents and one brother, Lynn Patrick Bertaut Jr., preceded her in death.
Betsy was a homemaker and was a member of First Baptist Church of Woodlawn.
