Charles Hopkins Jr.


Charles E. Hopkins Jr., 43, of Woodlawn, died at 7:38 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at St. Louis University Hospital.



He was born Feb. 14, 1966, in Soley, Ala., the son of Charles E. Hopkins Sr. and Bobbie Taylor. He married Cindy Williams on June 24, 2004, in Woodlawn, and she survives.



Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Mr. Steve Upchurch officiating.



Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.



Interment will be at Woodlawn I.O.O.F. Cemetery.



Charles is survived by his wife; two sons, Chase of Waltonville and Charlie of Centralia; two daughters, Raeann of Centralia and Ashley of Lebanon; mother Bobbie and stepfather Carl Coplin of Park Hills, Mo.; a brother, Chris Hopkins and special friend Tarra of Centralia; a sister, Denise Hine and husband Jerry of Centralia; a stepdaughter, Melissa Morton and husband Chris of Woodlawn; brother-in-law Brent Williams and wife Angie of Woodlawn; and father- and mother-in-law Jim and Sherrill Williams of Woodlawn. Several nieces and nephews also survive.



He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.



Charles worked at Walgreens Distribution Center. He was an avid sports fan and darts player. He played for Action Amusement and Williams Enterprise Dart Leagues.
