Donald Webster

Donald Webster, 80, of Salem, passed away at 8 p.m. on Oct. 27, 2009, at his home.



He was born in Salem on Oct. 22, 1929, the son of Cyrus and Zelma (Howe) Webster. He married Berta Moller in May 1952 in Frankfort, Germany, and they later divorced. He worked in the City of Salem Water Department as a foreman.



Mr. Webster was cremated and there will be no services.



He is survived by two daughters, Sonja Myers and Judy Webster, both of Centralia; and two sisters, Betty Martin of Alma and Nancy Smith of Salem.



He was preceded in death by three brothers, James Webster, Raymond Webster and Bill Webster; a daughter, Berta Webster; and former wife, Berta (Moller) Webster.



Mr. Webster served in the armed forces, stationed in Germany. He returned to the States in 1952, having achieved staff sergeant rank within three years. He was also a business agent with Operating Engineers for nine years through Local 553. He was a member of the VFW of Centralia and American Legion.



For those who wish, memorials may be maid to the VFW of Centralia and may be left at Rogers-Atkins Funeral Home in Salem, who is in charge of arrangements.
