Mary L. Thomas, 74, of Bluford, passed away at 9:38 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
She was born in Elk Prairie Township in Jefferson County on Feb. 26, 1935, the daughter of David and Fleeta (Holloway) Tracy. She married Perry E. Thomas in Rochelle on Nov. 5, 1953, and he survives.
Mrs. Thomas worked for several years at Good Samaritan Hospital and Casey Care Nursing Home.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by her husband, Perry E. Thomas; two sons, Max E. Thomas and wife Sonny and Arthur L. Thomas and wife Mary; daughter-in-law, Barb Thomas; brother, Bill Tracy and wife Mary; and five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by a son, William Douglas Thomas; her parents; four sisters; and two brothers.
Graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Abner Cemetery in Nason with the Rev. Gale Breeze officiating. There will be no visitation. Those attending the service are requested to meet at the cemetery.
