Hershel Trotter

Hershel Junior Trotter, 80, of Dahlgren, passed away at 11:18 a.m. on Nov. 17, 2009, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.



He was born in Wayne County on May 26, 1929, a son of Shirley and Minnie (Hunt) Buchanan. He married Wilma Rich on Aug. 7, 1949.



Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Olive Branch Church with the Rev. Richard McCormick and the Rev. Leland Ganieany officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery.



Mr. Trotter is survived by his wife, Wilma Trotter of Dahlgren; a son, Danny Trotter and wife Carla of Dahlgren; daughters, Diane Draper of McLeansboro and Debbie Austin and husband Howard of Wayne City; seven grandchildren, Craig Draper and wife Melinda, Michael Draper and wife Amy, Levi Draper and wife Sarah, Dannella and Justin Trotter and Jade and Wyatt Austin; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mable Buchanan of Wayne City.



He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.



Mr. Trotter was a member of Olive Branch Church.
