Richard Miller

Richard Miller, age 45, of Mt. Vernon died at 12:25 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at his mother’s home in Mt. Vernon.



Richard was born March 8, 1964, in Chicago, a son of Robert Lee and Wylodine (Pasley) Miller.



Richard worked as a cook at Denny’s Restaurant in Mt. Vernon for many years. He was a member of the Salvation Clinic at 1215 South 10th St., in Mt. Vernon.



He is survived by his mother, Wylodine Miller of Mt. Vernon; two brothers, Maurice Miller of Centralia and Melvine Miller and wife Renee of Wisconsin; one sister, Jeannie Nelson and husband Patrick of Mt. Vernon; and also a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.



He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Miller; two stillborn brothers; one sister, Joyce Davis; one aunt, Aline Taylor; and five uncles, Mathew, James Edward, J.C., Iasiah and Earl Miller.



Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 1309 S. Ninth St., Mt Vernon, with Evangelist Betty Gradford officiating.



Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.



For those who wish memorials may be made to the Salvation Clinic and will be accepted at the service.
