Paul “Peanut” Rodatz


Paul Edward “Peanut” Rodatz, 67, of Mt. Vernon, died at 3:30 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2010, at his residence in Mt. Vernon.

He was born June 24, 1942, in Mt. Vernon, the son of Louie and Reta (Whitzel) Rodatz.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with the Rev. Derek Downs officiating.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Woodlawn I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

“Peanut” is survived by a son, Scott Rodatz of Cisne; stepdaughter, Vickie Englebright of Beckemeyer; three step grandchildren, Jacob Cobble and wife Ashley of Newton, Christopher Cobble of Salem and Misti Cobble of Beckemeyer; brother, James Howard Rodatz and wife Joyce of Booneville, Ark.; two nephews, Jason Rodatz and wife Tiffaney and Jeffery Rodatz, all of Booneville, Ark.; and special friends Cheryl and Angie Campbell of Mt. Vernon. He is also survived by many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

“Peanut” worked for Dowzer Electric for 30 plus years and 10 plus years at Walgreens. He was a member of the Mt. Vernon Sportsman Club, Mt. Vernon Moose Lodge and First Baptist Church of Woodlawn.
