Our View: 'Jefferson County came through'

A week before the deadline to submit nominations for the Senior Saints Hall of Fame, the committee in charge of the organization had received just two completed nominations. A call for help was sent out by the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce, which partners with the city and county to induct Senior Saints each year, and members of the community responded in a big way.

“When it came down to the deadline, Jefferson County came through,” Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Brandon Bullard said. “I think the nominations represent our community well.”

The Senior Saints Hall of Fame received a big boost recently when it was moved to the Rolland Lewis Community Building at Veterans Park. It is nice to see the next class will come from a larger group of nominations than originally thought. There is no shortage of potential Senior Saints and we thank those who took time out of their busy days to complete the nomination process.
