A Reader's View: Enjoy a fun, safe Halloween
Editor:
This year, we could all use a good reason to celebrate by becoming someone else for a night and escaping the stresses off our everyday lives. That’s why more and more adults will take a break from their day-to-day routines to become their favorite ghost, goblin, celebrity or politician at Halloween parties across the country.
According to a 2009 survey by the National Retail Federation, 74 percent of adults ages 25 to 34 and 70 percent of adults 35 to 44 plan to celebrate Halloween. And at B & G Venegoni Distributing, we want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable time.
We encourage adults who choose to drink on Halloween to do so responsibly. Use designated drivers or alternate transportation if you think you’ve had too much to drink.
For adults hosting a Halloween party with alcohol beverages, here are a few additional ways to make sure all your guests get home safely: Offer a variety of good foods with alcohol beverages; offer non-alcohol beverages; serve guests one drink at a time; and stop serving alcohol one hour before the party ends.
This Halloween, bring the night home responsibly. Together we can help keep our celebrations safe for everyone.
