Tonight there will be little ghosts and goblins, princesses and knights out looking for treats to take home.
With Halloween comes responsibility on the part of parents and motorists. Those little ones, and not so little ones, who are running door to door have their minds on one thing — getting more candy.
Children don’t always think about safety when they get excited. That’s the job of adults.
So think about it. Parents, make sure your children who are trick-or-treating have safe costumes that don’t pose a risk of tripping, that have masks with eye-holes the kids can see through. A flashlight is a good think to help those dressed in dark colors be seen, and for the kiddies to use to light their way across unfamiliar yards.
And those who will be driving tonight — take it slow. Watch for the unexpected. Children are quick, and an accident can happen in a heartbeat.
Let’s all work together to make this Halloween one that will be enjoyable and memorable for all.
