CHARLESTON —
Mt. Vernon’s boys track team competed Saturday at Eastern Illinois’ indoor meet.
Pole vaulter Joseph McDaniel tied a personal best and placed third with a leap of 13 feet, six inches. Karson Hahn was fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:01.4. David Modert was seventh 1,600 meters in a time of 4:34.4.
Other results were: Robert Grider 200 meters (10th) 23.93 seconds, Ethan Badger 800 meters (18th) 2:08.51, Demontez Miller-Gray high jump (16th) five feet, eight inches, 800 meter relay team (13th) 1:37.44, 1,600 meter relay (16th) 3:43.1, Jordan Wilemon 1,600 meters (12th) 4:48.3, Drew Hester long jump (18th) 18 feet, six inches and Steve Boss 55 meters (16th) 7.09 seconds.
Mt. Vernon starts its outdoor season Thursday at Salem with Marion.
