Mt. Vernon’s girls track team traveled to Charleston for the an indoor meet Saturday.
Freshman Charde Golliday medaled in a pair of events. She finished third in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.86 and was seventh in the long jump with a distance of 15 feet, three and a half inches.
Aaliyah Palmer was 10th in the shot put with a throw of 35 feet, five inches.
Other results were: Katelynn Jones 27 feet, nine and half inches in shot put; Kaelynn Hendricks 8.78 seconds in 55 meter dash; Ashley Paulson 1:11.24 in the 400 meters; Rebecca Rexing 2:54.57 in the 800 meters; Allie Skobel 5:54.40 in the 1,600 meters; Zoe Mattingly 6:08.64 in the 1,600 meters; 2:09.07 in the 800 meter relay; 4:48 in the 1,600 meter relay and 12:38 in the 3,200 meter relay
Mt. Vernon opens the outdoor season Tuesday, March 19 with a triangular meet at Salem with Effingham.
