MT. VERNON — Blake Jennings and Chelsea Cross won the Jefferson County 18-and-under Mixed Doubles Tournament Wednesday at Veterans Park.
The two defeated Peter Walker and Abbey Gober 10-3 in the championship match after beating Tyler McLane and Alli Reed 10-0 in the quarterfinals and Anthony Hallam and Jeanette Straeter 10-6 in the semifinals.
Walker and Gober reached the finals by defeating Conner Burge and Cassie Grove 10-0 and Skylar Marlow and Shelby Timm 10-3.
Hallam and Straeter won third place with a 10-4 win against Marlow and Timm, while Blake Flota and Ally Adcock claimed fifth place with an 11-9 win against Dan Chambliss and Shaelynn Tice.
