MT. VERNON — The Mt. Vernon City Park 18-and-under junior tennis team improved its record to 6-1 with a 3-1 victory over Lawrenceville.
Blake Jennings won in boys singles 7-6 (7-3). Tyler Knox and Tyler McLane won in boys doubles, 6-2, and Alyssa Burge and Megan Feezer won, 7-5.
Mt. Vernon’s 14-and-under team won 7-1 over Lawrenceville.
The victory improved Mt.Vernon’s overall record to 3-1 for the summer.
Zach Swinnen and Jade Knox won two matches each for Mt. Vernon.
The duo teamed up for a 6-2 mixed doubles victory. Swinnen also won with Jonathan Smith in boys doubles, 6-3.
Knox teamed up with Maddie Casad in girls doubles, 6-2.
Seth Hart and Brody Neal won, 6-4, in boys doubles, as did Alex Adcock and Brandon George, 6-3.
Michael Feezer and Noah Greenwalt teamed up for a 6-0 win.
Aaron Burge and Liz Hurst combined for a 6-3 victory.
In a partial match with Benton’s 18-and-under squad, Ally Adcock and Shaelynn Tice won twice in girls doubles by scores of 6-4 and 6-3.
Nathan Arnold won in boys singles, 6-4.
Alyssa Burge and Megan Feezer won, 6-3.
Mt. Vernon’s 18-and-under team will play Monday at Greenville.
