The men's softball team from Lebanon Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon finished runner-up at the Illinois Baptist Church Association's state tournament Saturday in Decatur. Lebanon started the all-day tournament with three straight wins before losing its first game in the double-elimination tourney to eventual champion Winstanley Baptist Church (Fairview Heights). From the loser's bracket, Lebanon rallied in its final at-bat to overcome a four-run deficit, beating third-place Tabernacle Baptist Church (Decatur) 11-13 and winning the loser's bracket to advance to the championship game.
