The Dodds grade school baseball team threw its fifth shutout in the last six games in an 8-0 win over Field Tuesday afternoon.
Each team finished with three hits.
Trevor Flota pitched six innings for the victory. Flota allowed three hits, while striking out eight and walking a batter.
Jake Pike finished up the seventh for Dodds, striking out two hitters and allowing two walks.
Colten Meador took the loss for Field. He went four innings, allowing two hits and striking out seven batters while walking three.
Thomas Weber threw one inning for the Panthers and gave up one hit, struck out three.
He walked three and allowed three runs to score.
Noah Karch pitched the final inning for Field and allowed no hits and no runs.
The Wildcats were led by Joel Duncan at the plate. He finished with a double and a single, while Clayton Reeves contributed a double.
For the Panthers, they were led by Meador's two singles and Dalton McGowen's single.
The Wildcats (6-1) play Summersville Thursday at Dodds beginning at 4 p.m.
• Bluford defeated Wayne City, 10-0.
Anthony Deuel, Ty Henderson, Patrick Vaughan, and Lane Moser all singled for Bluford.
Gage Raudenbush had a pair of singles. Levi Aydt finished with a triple and a single.
Bluford scored in every inning they batted with two in the first, three in the second, one in the third and four in the fourth.
