Jefferson County holds grade school all-star games

SUMMERSVILLE — Summersville Grade School hosted a pair of Jefferson County All-Star basketball games recently.

In boys action the Light team beat the Dark team 58-51.

Jack Bunting and Jake Jines both of St. Mary led the Light team’s offense. Bunting finished with 20 points, and Jines added 10. Other scorers were: Walker Brockhouse 8, Collin Smith 7, Jaxon Helm 5, Caleb Webb 4, Jacob Wiley 2 and Dalton Banach 2.

Jimmy Smith of Bethel/McClellan led the Dark team with nine points, and Zach Hart of Field added eight. Other scorers were: Blake Wollerman 7, Kolby Gill 6, Quinton Kujawa 5, Cole Morgan 5, Seth Benson 4, Jake Gilmore 2, Jaylyn Phillips 2 and Jonathan Payne 2.

In girls action, the Light team beat the Dark team 44-34.

St. Mary’s Lauren Heinzmann led the Light team with 15 points, and Waltonville’s Jaylin Hayley finished with 14. Other scorers were: Taytum Murdock 3, Brianna Meyer 2, Kylie Patton 2, Makayla Moore 2, Taylor Frank 1, Abby Potter 1, Kiara Lueking 1.

Summersville’s Kate Bushue led the Dark team with 11 points, and teammate Adrianna Patton finished with seven. Other scorers were: Brianna Stewart 4, Lydia King 4, Julianna Piercy 3, Monique Trimble 3 and MacKenzie Zinzilieta 2.
