MT. VERNON —
The Lady Rams bowling team won the South Seven Conference title and placed a pair of individuals in the top five on Saturday at Nu Bowl Lanes.
Mt. Vernon won the title with a score of 4,232. Other team scores were: Centralia 4,116; Cahokia 3,722; Marion 3,451; Carbondale 3,225 and Althoff 2,767.
Mt. Vernon’s Taylor Allen was the top individual girls bowler with a score of 931. Teammate Olivia Rios was third overall with a 888.
Mt. Vernon’s boys team finished fifth with a 4,316. Centralia won the team title with a 4,808. Other team scores were: Cahokia 4,538; Carbondale 4,478; Althoff 4,367 and Marion 4,038.
The event marked the first time Mt. Vernon hosted the conference tournament.
“It was a really good experience,” Mt. Vernon boys coach Dave Wagner said. “We had a lot of fans come out and support it so it was a good event.
“It went over very well.”
