MT. VERNON —
EAST ST. LOUIS (AP) — Police in East St. Louis are looking for three masked gunmen who walked into a church and robbed the people attending service.
East St. Louis Police Chief Michael Floore says nobody was hurt during the armed robbery Sunday at IRA Grove Baptist Church.
Floore tells the Bellville News-Democrat (http://bit.ly/14nv1QD ) that the gunmen got away with money and other items. He says investigators are working to determine exactly what was taken from the churchgoers.
The robbery was reported to police just after 5 p.m. Sunday. The police chief says the investigation is just beginning and police haven't yet identified any suspects.
