EDWARDSVILLE (AP) — A prosecutor has been named a new judge in southwestern Illinois.
Judges in the state's Third Judicial District have appointed Neil Schroeder as an associate judge. He fills the vacancy left when Kyle Napp was elected a circuit judge in November.
Schroeder has been an assistant state's attorney in Madison County since 1998. Before that, he was a prosecutor in Montgomery County.
He's a graduate of the law school at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.
