MT. VERNON — —
Demolition on the former Drury Inn, Denny's and Ron's convenience store and car wash started Monday. According to representatives of Drury on the site, all three structures will be on the ground by Friday. Metal and other salvageable materials will be recycled, as well as the concrete blocks and bricks. Once demolition is completed on that side of the street, demolition will continue with the former Thrifty hotel and the In the Pines property, and crews will begin construction on the new Drury Inn.
