MT VERNON — Details are sketchy, but it appears another local bank has been robbed or attempted to be robbed.
Police were called to GenFed Credit Union on 42nd Street just before 1 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. Although police have not released whether the credit union was robbed, police have blocked off the facility, which has also been locked down.
A suspect allegedly ran from the facility, going between the building and Mt. Vernon Fire Station 4 heading east. K-9 units have been dispatched to the scene.
This is the second time this week police have been called to investigate a robbery, after the Jefferson County Schools Credit Union on Broadway was robbed on Monday afternoon.
More details of the investigation and the incident will be published as the Register-News continues coverage of the story.
